All
UC employees pay money to the union, but that doesn't automatically
make you a member. Here you can find the membership application
form, calculate the difference in cost between being a non-member
fair share fee-payer and being a union member, and discover some
of the benefits of joining (voting privileges and more).
We
invite CUE members to join in building a strong union. Your help
is needed in many ways. Here are some of the ways you can participate,
but joining is the best place to start. Please contact the campus
representatives listed in this Web Page to say you would like
to help with one or more of the following tasks.
- Distributing
information to co-workers and making sure that their priorities
are known to CUE.
- Continuing
efforts to survey the needs of clericals on every campus.
- Researching
the issues -- from wages to health and safety; from layoff rights
to reclassification and subcontracting; and so many more...
- Developing
and expanding CUE's structure so that we can continue as an
open and effective organization that truly represents us. We
need a union that is both strong and democratic!
- Finding
new and effective ways to remind or convince co-workers that
their membership today is the key to bringing better wages &
working conditions tomorrow.
- Learning
about our rights in the workplace so you can help co-workers
solve problems.
- Becoming
a member of the local campus steering committee to develop plans
and make decisions for CUE at your campus, and to help shape
CUE's program statewide.
