WHAT: Chancellor Blumenthal’s town hall style forum with UCSC staff

WHEN: Tuesday, February 10, Noon – 1pm

WHERE: Kresge Town Hall

As you know, CUE and UC are still at the bargaining table. Discussions about wages, health insurance and retirement are coming very soon. UC is expected to propose an increase in contributions to our retirement plan, something not many UCSC CUE workers can afford. UChas already signaled its intent to not offer a pay raise.

We must tell Chancellor Blumenthal that we cannot afford to pay any increases in our health insurance or retirement plans. We must tell the Chancellor how long we’ve been stuck on the low end of the wage scale. We must tell the Chancellor that we will stand up for ourselves by taking steps to reject the demand for contributing to our health and welfare benefits.

We must tell Chancellor Blumenthal the realities of our worklives at UCSC. Our personal stories matter most. He needs to hear our voices.
