MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT LAYOFFS and WHAT THE UNION CAN DO ABOUT THEM WHEN: Monday, February 2nd, 5:30 - 7:30 PM WHERE: CUE Office, 501 Mission Street Suite 11, 2nd floor (map: click here) WHY: Layoffs have taken place and more are possible. Learn about your rights. WHAT ELSE: Workers have the right to challenge layoffs and make proposals about other ways UCSC and individual departments can save money without causing job loss. Union staff will review the status of current layoffs and our labor contract language that pertains to them. We’ll discuss ideas we can propose to save money that avoids CUE workers losing their jobs. Come share your ideas and knowledge about your department’s response to President Yudof’s requirement for a 10% cost reduction. Light snacks will be served.
